The mission of the Kelly Memorial Food Pantry is to fight against hunger in the El Paso community by providing its residents with resources they need such as food.
The Kelly Memorial Food Pantry is operated by all volunteers from Trinity-First and other local churches in the El Paso community who want to help those in need of food assistance .
The Kelly Memorial Food Pantry began in 2001 through a memorial gift from its namesake, Bob Kelly. The food pantry began in the basement of Trinity- First United Methodist Church serving clients in the area immediately surrounding the church on the first and third Saturday of the month. With time, the need of the pantry grew. With more than 4,500 families, which is over 13,000 individuals being assisted each year, the pantry was moved to its new location at 915 N. Florence, still in the Heart of El Paso to ensure that El Paso residents are continuously not going hungry. With a Heart for El Paso, Kelly Memorial Food Pantry and its partnership with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger and Feeding America, united strives to improve the ability of families to gain nourishment through hard times by supplying food boxes twice a month.
